Did you know that over half the bones in our body live in the hands (and feet)? There are 27 bones in the human hand with 17,000 nerve endings that help you sense movement, pressure and vibration.

Yep! Check out the bones in the hand:

Humans evolved from chimpanzees; these animals swing from and grip tree branches and hence need joint-heavy hands (and feet). Remember, a joint is where two bones meet, so, your hand has 27 joints which means muscles, ligaments and tendons are present at each joint.

The point we’re making here is that your hands need healthy movement and self-care so your elbow and shoulder doesn’t overcompensate! When’s the last time you thought to stretch your hand?

With that, here are this week’s class themes:

Monday, April 17th @ 12PM with Nicole:
Can restrictions in your palm, forearm or shoulder cause discomfort in your wrists during planks or push-ups –absolutely. We’ll use some quick tests to see if armline tightness is limiting your ability to stand on your hands. Then we’ll pepper in stretches and mobility work within the classical repertoire to connect better to our hands.

Monday, April 19th @ 8AM with Destinie:
Grab Bag! Come with requests for Destinie.
