Online Pilates newsletter

We hope you had a lovely best holiday season. We sure did! A new year means shaking things up – new sleep routines, more hydration efforts, and a new online Pilates mat schedule.

We received such lovely feedback on A Pilates December to Remember that we’ve decided to keep up with themed classes with rotating teachers for Monday’s 12PM class.

January’s Theme: Movement requires a Frame of Reference
Monday, January 2nd: Destinie!
Monday, January 9th: Mollie!
Monday, January 16th: Nicole!
Monday, January 23rd: Destinie!
Monday, January 30th: Mollie!

Can you tell that we’re excited (!!!!!)?

For all of you early birds out there, Wednesday 8AM Grab Bag class with Destinie lives on! Nicole’s Friday 12PM class takes a bow and exits stage left. Fare Thee Well, Friday 12PM! With that, here is your class theme to kick off 2023!

Monday, January 2nd @ 12PM with Destinie:
A teacher cues you to forward bend. But, what is forward? Great question, young grasshopper. Forward is flexion. Forward is anterior movement in the sagittal plane. Say what? Don’t worry. If you’ve taken Pilates before, you’ve performed anterior movement in the sagittal plane 1.1 million times; it’s not foreign to you, it just sounds weird. It’s important that students learn the anatomical frame of reference because it helps us teachers speak more clearly to you and actually increases clarity and decreases confusion. Anterior will always be the front side of the body. Forward flexion always occurs in the sagittal plane.

Wednesday, January 4th @ 8AM with Destinie:
GRAB BAG! Bring on the new year’s resolutions! Wanting to tackle tight hamstrings or build a better booty (no judgements here; a better booty is better to handle stairs)? Let Destinie know at the beginning of class or feel free to email her @ [email protected] if you’re camera shy!

With love,
PiC
